I'm speechless... and devastated after following news throughout the afternoon of Michael's Cardiac Arrest and eventual passing.
I grew up listening to his music, memorizing the videos, and learning the dance moves (to this day I still see kids trying to do the moonwalk)... Throughout high school and college I continued collecting his albums and singles, as well as albums from his early years. I also ended up getting a lot of dvds featuring his concerts overseas, and a bootleg of his reunion with his brothers. I have t-shirts with him on it that I can still fit in to (That is a statement that can't be said of a lot of people.).
He was my sole celebrity idol throughout my years of growing up. I'm proud to say that, because of his musical genius and tenacity to be the best. If you tell a kid that today (trust me I know) they laugh and say a bunch of bad things about him... But as usual, I had to defend his works. His music always helped me get through things, and even at times helped me relax. His words throughout some of his songs were like voices of reason for me.
I wished many of children of today could have grown up during our time to see what he did, and what he accomplished. Noone even comes close nowadays.
